Rescues and Values for Human Rights
We defend dignity. We amplify voices. We stand with the struggle.
We are a non-profit organization created to help, give voice to, and promote humanity's most fundamental values. We didn't arrive on this path yesterday. We are not new to this fight.
Our first steps were humble: a home office, minimal resources, limited capital, and the generosity of other organizations and individuals who believed in us before we had a well-known name. Since then, we have walked alongside those who need us most.
Our story stems from a real experience.
The idea of working for human rights didn't come from a book or a theory. It was born from firsthand experiences, the kind that leave a mark on your skin and soul, and that, instead of destroying, build purpose.
Years ago, Wilson experienced firsthand what it means to have your human rights stripped away. He was subjected to countless false accusations, endured inhumane physical torture, and was ultimately forced to flee his homeland to preserve the most basic thing: his life.
But Wilson didn't become a victim. He became a voice.
That single voice achieved what seemed impossible: bringing a government before one of the world's highest courts, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and being heard. His case not only obtained justice but also set a precedent for many others.
Quienes nos acompañan en este camino
Wilson Gutiérrez
Founder & President / CEO
the founding force behind Rescues and Values for Human Rights. His personal story false accusations, physical torture, and forced exile from his country did not turn him into a victim, but into a voice.
His case reached the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, where he proved that a single person can stand up to a system and be heard. Today, Wilson leads our organization with the conviction that no one should walk alone in the search for justice. His resilience is the heart of everything we do.
Oscar Escobar
Founder & President / Co-CEO
Oscar Escobar shares Wilson's vision and commitment to defending the most fundamental values of humanity. As co-founder, Oscar has worked tirelessly to build institutional bridges, strengthen alliances, and ensure that our work reaches those who need it most.
